David Miller
Musical Director
The Belgian/American musician David Miller has made a 40-year career based in Brussels as a pianist, conductor, and composer. Between 1976 and 1987 David was the repetiteur at La Monnaie opera house, a role that he resumed between 2003 and 2012. Other major European Opera Houses where David has worked include la Bastille, Toulouse, Dresden, La Scala, as well as the summer festivals Bayreuth and Pesaro. As a conductor, in addition to assisting John Pritchard, Giuseppe Sinopoli and Sir Colin Davis, among others, David Miller has conducted public performances with the orchestras of La Monnaie, the Liège Opera, the Dresden Opera and the Orchestre de Chambre de Wallonie. He has also worked with the orchestras of the opera houses of Santiago de Chile and Genova. As a composer, David has many works to his name. His musical comedy, “Tom Sawyer” was premiered in the Woluwé Cultural Centre and went on to a very successful run at the Hotel Dolce in La Hulpe. His film music includes original pieces and arrangements for “The Pencil Murders”, “Le Maitre de Musique”, “L’Année de l’Eveil” and “Farinelli”. Since 2013 he has been the musical director of the Bruocsella Symphony Orchestra. He has also conducted concerts by the Orchestre Camerata de Linkebeek and the BachWerk music ensemble.
Alexis Goslain
Stage director
Trained at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels under the guidance of Bernard Marbaix and Charles Kleinberg, Alexis Goslain received his First Prize in dramatic arts and elocution in 2000, crowned with the Union of Artists Prize. Since then, he has established himself as a figure in Belgian theatre, both on stage and in directing. A versatile actor, he has played a wide range of roles in works from Molière to Florian Zeller. As a director, he has brought his talent to remarkable productions. He regularly collaborates with the Théâtre des Galeries (Une idée géniale by Sébastien Castro in 2024; J’ai envie de toi by the same author in 2023; La Revue des Galeries from 2018 to 2022), the Villers-la-Ville Abbey (Beauty and the Beast, adapted from Madame de Villeneuve in 2025; The Little Prince, adapted from Antoine de Saint-Exupéry in 2021), and the Théâtre de la Toison d’Or (John Lennon: The Last Day by Marc Ysaye in 2020). His dedication also extends to the Royal Conservatory of Brussels, where he taught for seven years, and to co-writing sketches for the show Signé Taloche.
Hadrien Baudot
Stage director
Hadrien Baudot has been active for 10 years as a director, producer, actor, singer, set designer and sound technician in Flanders. In 2023, he won the prize for the best amateur theatre production in Leuven (Prix Euripide) and Flanders (Landjuweel) for his musical theatre production about Mozart (self-written dialogues set to music by Franz von Suppé, international collaboration with the Italian-Scottish conductor Dario Salvi, a world expert on Auber and Suppé). As a singer, Hadrien performs regularly in concert as a tenor, and takes part in productions such as those at the Lyric Studio of the Palais des Beaux-Arts in Charleroi, where he has appeared in G. Bizet’s ‘Carmen’, W.A. Mozart’s ‘Die Zauberflöte’ and J. Offenbach’s ‘Les Contes d’Hoffmann’.
Stéphane Stubbé
Beaumarchais
Stéphane Stubbé, an actor trained at the IAD-theater and later at the Centre for Theatre Studies in Louvain-la-Neuve, founded the Lazzi company in 1990. For more than twenty summers, the Lazzi company created summer performances at the Château de Modave (Huy), later performed in numerous venues across Wallonia and Brussels. Some notable productions include: “To be or not”, “Petits meurtres entre nous”, “Le Barbier de Séville”, “George Dandin”, “RN57”, and more recently “Ruy Blas” by Victor Hugo in 2017, directed by Evelyne Rambeaux. He also played the flamboyant Monsieur Perrichon at Théâtre Jean Vilar in Louvain-la-Neuve in 2015-2016. Since 2009, he has joined the Magic Land Theater troupe for several memorable performances.
Gianna Cañete Gallo

The Belgian-Uruguayan soprano Gianna Cañete Gallo studied at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels and the Luigi Cherubini Conservatory in Florence and then, thanks to a Rotary International scholarship, at the Hochschule für Musik in Nuremberg. Winner of the “Nouveaux talents de l’Art Lyrique” in 2016 where she also received the Audience Award, she won first prize at the national operetta competition “Brussel Operettetheater” in 2019. Her career has led her to perform as a soloist in opera, oratorio and chamber music, in South America, France, Italy, Holland and Germany in several international festivals. She has notably sung at the Opéra Royal de Wallonie, the Théâtre royal du Parc, the Kaaitheater and the Théâtre des Martyrs in Brussels, the Offenbach Festival in Etretat, the Astra Theater in Malta and the Göggingen Parktheater. During masterclasses, she was able to benefit from the advice of Lisette Oropesa, Laura Claycomb, Nadine Denize, José Van Dam, Anna Tomowa-Sintow, Jennifer Larmore and Andreas Scholl.

After studying mathematics, Arnaud Lion decided to study lyrical singing at the Royal Conservatory of Liège, first in Véronique Solhosse’s class for singing, and then in Natacha Kowalski’s class for opera. He also participated in various masterclasses and workshops with artists such as Claire Lefilliatre, Céline Scheen, and movement workshops with Patrick Brüll. He has had the opportunity to work with conductors such as Gergely Madaras, Leonardo García-Alarcón, and René Jacobs, with whom he took part in a concert tour of the opera Carmen alongside Gaëlle Arquez, Thomas Dolié, and Sabine Devieilhe. Arnaud Lion also has a keen interest in the repertoire of comic opera and operetta. Notably, he has performed the roles of Estampillo (Violettes Impériales by Scotto), Roger de Lansquenet (Ciboulette by Hahn), D’Estillac (The Merry Widow by Léhar), and Brissac (The Musketeers at the Convent by Varney). His career, marked by a wide variety of repertoires, makes him a passionate artist, always in search of new challenges on stage.
Julie Prayez
Cherubino
Holder of a Master’s degree in Singing with the highest distinction from IMEP and a Concertiste diploma from the École Normale de Musique de Paris Alfred Cortot, Julie has also benefited from the teachings of renowned masters such as Rosalind Plowright, Edwin Crossley-Mercer, Mariam Sarkissian, Ana Camelia Stefanescu, Sophie Karthäuser, and Véronique Gens. She performs in prestigious venues (Palais des Beaux-Arts de Charleroi, Opéra Royal de Wallonie, Palais des Beaux-Arts de Bruxelles, Opéra de Vichy, Théâtre de Massy) in a variety of roles, such as Gabrielle in La Vie Parisienne by J. Offenbach, the Fairy in Cendrillon by J. Massenet, Cherubino in Le Nozze di Figaro by W.A. Mozart, or Hodel in Fiddler on the Roof by J. Stein. On the acting side, she was awarded Best Actress at the Seadance Festival for her role in Lila et Valentin by Adrien Lhommedieu. She portrays Princess Negroni in Lucrèce Borgia by Victor Hugo, presented at the Villers-la-Ville Abbey and on tour in venues such as Théâtre Jean Villar and Wolubilis. She is also the face of the THE MARKERS campaign by LEE COOPER, highlighting young Belgian talents.
Catherine Maufroy
La Contessa
Catherine Maufroy joined the Children’s Choir of La Monnaie at the age of 9, where she discovered her vocation for opera singing. In 2011, she obtained her Bachelor’s degree from the Maastricht Conservatory with great distinction, in the class of Frans Kokkelmans, and a first prize in advanced studies at the Valenciennes Regional Conservatory two years later, with Daniel Ottevaere. In 2015, Catherine joined Lionel Lhote’s class at the Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel, where she obtained her Master’s degree with distinction. She was selected to take part in the Udo Reinemann Masterclasses at La Monnaie with Christianne Stotijn, Bernarda Fink, Anne Sofie von Otter, Olaf Bär and Barbara Bonney, among others. Catherine has appeared on stage as Gabrielle (Quatre Jours à Paris – F. Lopez), Saffi (Le Baron Tzigane – J. Strauss II) with the Société Royale des Matelots de la Dendre, and Caroline (La Chauve-Souris – J. Strauss II) and Simone (Les mousquetaires au couvent- L. Varney) alongside Lionel Lhote. She is currently training with Gabrielle Philiponet (France), Nelly Miricioiu (UK) and Annick Massis (France) as well as Philippe Riga (Belgium).
Damien Vliegen

Damien Vliegen has a passion for opera and has been performing since 2017. His encounters quickly led him to take part in opera productions in Belgium and abroad. He can boast a varied repertoire. His most notable roles include Orpheus in “Orpheus in the Underworld” (J. Offenbach), Danilo in “The Merry Widow” (F. Lehár), and Dancaïre in “Carmen” (G. Bizet) at the Royal Theater of Mons. He played Monostatos in “The Magic Flute” (W.A. Mozart) at the Palais des Beaux-Arts in Charleroi, and sang the role of Samuel in the “The Pirates of Penzance” (Gilbert & Sullivan) at the Royal Hall in Harrogate (UK), as well as the role of Prince Saphir in “Bluebeard” (J. Offenbach). He recently played Spalanzani in “Les Contes d’Hoffmann” (J. Offenbach) at the Palais des Beaux-Arts in Charleroi, and Escamillo in “Carmen” (G. Bizet).

Maria-Valentina Billeci
Soprano
Maria-Valentina Billeci holds three Masters degrees in singing from the Conservatoire Royal de Mons. She has convincing experience in major productions. In 2023, she was laureate of the Classic Academy event organised by the Orchestre Philharmonique Royal de Liège (OPRL), performed Ravel’s Shéhérazade with the OPRL, debuted in the role of Michaëla in “Carmen” (G. Bizet) at the Théâtre équestre de Bretagne, and took part in a recital of French Mélodies by Ravel, Debussy, Chausson and Fauré organised by the Brussels operettetheater. She has previously taken part in numerous other opera and operetta productions, notably at the Palais des Beaux-Arts in Charleroi (where she played Berta in “The Barber of Seville” by G. Rossini), and as a professional chorister in the Chœur de l’Opéra Royal de Wallonie-Liège and La Monnaie in Brussels.
Jean-Denis Piette
Bass Baritone
Jean-Denis Piette obtained a master’s degree in organ from Jean-Baptiste Monnot at the Institut Royal Supérieur de Musique et de Pédagogie (IMEP) in Namur in 2023. At the same time, he studied singing with Benoît Giaux and Françoise Viatour (from whom he also graduated in 2024). His activities led him to join the MM Academy programme at the Théâtre Royal de La Monnaie, first as a chorister and then, more recently, as a soloist in productions of “Parsifal”, “Falstaf” and “Pikovaïa dama”. He has also worked with Alain Altinoglu and Nathalie Stutzmann. He also took part on two occasions in the opera studio at the Palais des Beaux-Arts in Charleroi, in productions of W.A. Mozart’s “The Magic Flute” and J. Offenbach’s “The Tales of Hoffmann”, where he worked with Marcel Vanaud and Karine Van Hercke. In 2024, just after interpreting the role of Sarastro at the Opéra Grand Avignon, he performed a replacement role in the contemporary creation Brodeck at the Opéra Ballet Vlaanderen, then took part in the International Lyric Art Competition of Namur, where he won first prize and the audience prize.
Daniela Rodó
Musical Director & Pianist
Born in Costa Rica, Daniela Rodó studied at the renowned Central Music School of the Moscow PI Tchaikovsky State Conservatory under Professor Anatoly Ryabov. She then obtained a Bachelor of Piano Performance at the Royal Academy of Music in London under the tutelage of Diana Ketler and Pascal Nemirovski, and a Master’s degree with the highest distinction at the Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles under Professor Aleksandar Madzar. She also studied at the Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía with Dmitri Bashkirov and Denis Lossev. In 2021, she was awarded the “Alumna Sobresaliente” prize by Her Majesty Queen Sofía of Spain. She has performed on several occasions as a soloist at the National Theatre of Costa Rica for various Latin American heads of state. She has also performed for His Majesty Felipe VI of Spain and the ambassadors of the European Union in Costa Rica. Daniela Rodó has performed in the United States, Russia, England, Spain and Belgium. She has won first prize in various international concerts, which have led her to perform in theatres such as the Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall in New York.
